INSTRUCTIONS:

 

"Improvising - Lightning Rounds"

 

· Choose FOUR improvising concepts [from any section]

· Choose FOUR chords [in any mode]

· Play ONE Technique over EACH chord

 

 

EXAMPLES:

 

 

Am: Legato

C: Delay Resolution

Dm: High or Low Frets

Em: Double Bends

 

 

C:  Double Stops

F:  Start with Dissonant

G:  Fast or Slow

Am: 5 note phrases

 

 

G:  Tapping

C: Prebends

Em: Only 4ths

Dm: Continuous Triplets

 

 

F: Bend + Vibrato

B°: Fingers 4 and 2

C: End rhythmic loop

G: Quiet or Loud

 

 

DIFFICULTY:

 

Easy:  chords repeat 4 times

Medium:  chords repeat 2 times

Hard:   chords play once

 

 

 

Techniques

 

Legato, Vibrato, Slides, Bends, String Skipping, Tremolo, Double Stops, Single String, Pivot Notes, Trills, Staccato, Patterns, Pinch Harmonics, Tapping, Shredding

 

Consonance

 

Start and End on Root, Only 1-3-5-8, Start and End on Consonants, Delay Resolution, Start Dissonant, Only Disonnant, Triad Shapes, Letter Patterns

 

Dynamics

 

Quiet or Loud, Fast or Slow, Low or High Frets, Continuous, Palm Muted, Ascend or Descend, Staccato

 

Rhythm

 

Predetermined Pattern, Continuous 8th, 16th, or triplet, End Rhythmic Loop

 

Restrictions

 

1 or 2 Fingers, 1 or 2 Intervals, 1 or 3 or 5 notes, 3 or 5 or 7 note phrases, 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 strings
